The Executive & Academic Search team of Doximity Talent Solutions has partnered with the Saint Louis University

School of Medicine on the national search for an exceptional academic geriatrician to serve as the Director, Division of

Geriatric Medicine. The Division Director provides strategic, clinical, academic, and operational leadership for a well-

established and historically nationally known division within the Department of Medicine. Reporting to the Department Chair, Ravi Nayak, MD, the Division Director is responsible for continued growth and excellence of clinical programs,

expanding research, continuing focus on medical education, promoting scholarly activity, and ensuring operational

effectiveness across multiple clinical sites.

This is a rare opportunity to rebuild a nationally recognized division of Geriatric Medicine upon a remarkably strong

existing foundation. As Division Director, you will have tremendous department and institutional support to drive growth.

You will be a growth-minded builder and the architect of expansion, holding an Endowed Chair and utilizing a dedicated

division endowment available to drive strategic development. Your mission will be to elevate the division’s existing

national footprint, leveraging an academically recognized team known for widely used publications and active leadership

in national societies and conferences.

At the heart of this role is an experienced operational leader who can oversee the continued expansion of a

comprehensive clinical care network. Currently, the division provides exceptional care across a full continuum, including

outpatient care, inpatient services at SSM Saint Louis University Hospital, nursing homes, and skilled nursing and assisted

living facilities. They also have a fantastic relationship with the St. Louis VA Medical Center, the Division of Geriatric

Psychiatry, and the Division of Hospice and Palliative Medicine. In addition to the existing clinical faculty, you will guide

and collaborate with a dedicated team of five outstanding advanced practice providers.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • M.D. or D.O., or M.D./Ph.D. degree with and ability to obtain Missouri license
  • Evidence of scholarly productivity appropriate for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor
  • Board Certification in Geriatric Medicine (ABIM or ABFM)

  • Demonstrated record of progressive leadership and operational excellence in an academic medical center
  • Track record of clinical excellence and commitment to patient-centered care
  • Demonstrated success in faculty recruitment, development, and retention
