  • San Mateo County Health seeks primary care leaders to join our integrated Health Department as head of one of our high performing clinical teams at either our Daly City Clinic or Innovative Care Clinic (ICC) sites.

    Candidates have the opportunity to receive a sign-on bonus of up to $30,000. First-time external new hires, or current staff promoted internally or from other County departments into a regular Supervising Physician position in San Mateo Medical Center (SMMC) may be eligible to receive a sign-on bonus of up to $30,000 (subject to discontinuation at any time). The sign-on bonus will be in 3 phases and will be prorated for part-time.

    Ideal candidates are energetic leaders interested in improving patient centered approaches to primary care and have experience in change management. They are skilled problem solvers who can support data driven standard processes to ensure every patient receives the same level of quality care.

    About The Daly City Position

    • The Supervising Physician at our Daly City Clinic site will have the opportunity to oversee the excellent teamwork of a team working together to provide compassionate and complete care to this community through adult, pediatric, podiatry and dental care. Onsite Behavioral health, social work and pharmacist support as well as strong RN presence create a team-based approach serving almost seven thousand patients.

    About The Innovative Care Clinic

    1. A second exciting Supervising Physician opportunity is at our Innovative Care Clinic (ICC) located at our San Mateo Campus. ICC includes pharmacy, ancillary services and specialty care services within the same building. It has led the way in our primary care transformation utilizing team-based concepts, embedded chronic care case management and a fully integrated behavioral health team. Daily improvement and engaged staff and providers take care of over 7000 adult patients. Direct reports are around 10 regular and a few per diem providers.

    The Supervising Physician works in concert with manager and nursing leadership to lead local quality improvement work and program development in addition to direct on-site clinical work (50% direct patient care time & 50% clinic leadership & supervision of providers).

    Qualifications

    Licensure/Certification:

    • License to practice medicine or osteopathy in the State of California.
    • Possession of a valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

    Education and Experience: Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is:

    Three years of experience in the designated medical specialty. Board Certification or eligibility for certification in Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Adolescent Medicine or a related area is highly desirable.
