Optum Washington (formerly The Everett Clinic) is seeking a growth minded internal medicine physician to split their clinical time between inpatient hospitalist work and our virtual “hospital at home” model, and join our exceptional team working at the Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett, Washington. Position Highlights

  • You would enjoy a schedule of 14-16 shifts/month (pro-rated for less FTE), including some afternoon swing shifts but no full overnight shifts.
  • Hospitalist care: The Medical Hospitalist Team is well supported with strong relationships with the ICU, ER, specialists and hospice. Our team has deep ties to Washington State University and is a training site for the new WSU internal medicine residency program: teaching is part of the hospitalist role. There is also an option to work as a virtual hospitalist in our hospital at home model.
  • Hospital at home: Hospital at home is a unique model that is spreading throughout the country and has demonstrated superior clinical outcomes. The virtual hospitalist directs the clinical care and collaborates with the in-home RNs (who provide direct care) and the virtual nursing team. Hospital level care including IV medications and fluids, imaging, and stat work-ups are available in the home as part of this program. Caring for acutely ill patients in the comfort of their own home is extremely rewarding and satisfying to patients and clinicians alike.

Required Qualifications:

  • Unrestricted WA State Medical License by employment date
  • Current WA DEA certificate by employment date
  • Board Eligible/Board Certified Internal Medicine
  • EMR proficient
  • Bold verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience post-training
  • Experience with complex geriatric patients
  • Managed Care and Medi-Cal experience
