Children’s Mercy Kansas City is seeking a board-eligible/certified child neurologist with epilepsy/clinical neurophysiology training to join a team that is nationally recognized leader in comprehensive pediatric neuroscience care, education, and research.
The Division of Neurology is a multidisciplinary program comprising 25 physicians, 20 nurse practitioners, 23 staff nurses, and two nurse coordinators. The Division has substantial expertise in a broad range of neurological subspecialties, delivering expert, evidence-based care to a growing regional and national patient population. In 2024, our team completed over 22,000 patient visits, including nearly 7000 new patient evaluations. We are proud to be ranked #21 nationally by U.S. News & World Report in pediatric neurology and neurosurgery, underscoring our focus on clinical excellence, innovation, and access to care.
Here are some current highlights from our division:
- Level IV comprehensive pediatric epilepsy center with eight pediatric epileptologists, four pediatric neurosurgeons, and 12 bed EMU
- One of the largest ketogenic diet programs in the country
- Active Epilepsy surgery program utilizing both stereotactic (ROSA) and conventional grids ECOG
- Active Intra-Operative-Monitoring (IOM) program.
- Neuropsychology program dedicated for the epilepsy center.
- Active VNS/Neuromodulation program
Other highlights about the division:
- Comprehensive Headache program, including a headache relief clinic where treatment is tailored to each patient using novel approaches such as acupuncture, biofeedback and in-clinic DHE infusions
- Very successful pediatric DBS program within our growing movement disorder program
- Numerous subspecialty multidisciplinary programs, including: neonatal neurology, pediatric stroke, neuro-immunology, TS/NF, and spasticity to name a few
- Research collaborations with our Genomic Medicine Center and the Division of Clinical Pharmacology, Toxicology and Therapeutic Innovation
- Robust pediatric resident and fellowship programs, including a child neurology residency, clinical neurophysiology fellowship and headache fellowship
