OB Hospitalist | 7 or 14 Shifts Per Month | Lafayette, Louisiana

Join an expanding OB Hospitalist team in Lafayette offering a true inpatient only laborist model with predictable shift scheduling, strong specialty support, and consistent delivery volume. The role is focused entirely on inpatient obstetric care, with no clinic responsibilities or home call.



Position Highlights

• Inpatient Only: 100% OB Hospitalist role with no clinic responsibilities or home call
• 24/7 Hospitalist Model: Expanding toward a dedicated 24/7 model with 2 physicians on site per 12 hour shift
• Broad OB Scope: Manage L&D care, emergent and scheduled C sections, operative deliveries, ED GYN consultations, and inpatient rounding
• Clinical Support: CNMs, L&D RNs, lactation specialists, pregnancy navigators, and daytime APP coverage
• Specialty Support: In house anesthesia, on site neonatology, and employed MFM support for complex cases
• Delivery Volume: Approximately 2,500 annual deliveries across the service, with a typical volume of 2 to 4 deliveries per shift

Schedule

• Full time schedule of approximately 14 twelve hour shifts per month
• Rotating day and night shifts, including required weekends
• Fully shift based model with no call backs or remote responsibilities after shifts

Candidate Requirements

• MD or DO with Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Obstetrics & Gynecology
• Comfortable managing L&D, operative deliveries, and C sections in a high acuity environment
• Open to new graduates and experienced physicians
• Visa sponsorship considered
