Virginia Pediatrics Call-Only Assignment with No Admissions and Flexible Summer Coverage

Highlights

• No inpatient admissions required
• Call-only coverage — no in-house shifts

• PALS required, but no additional ACLS/ATLS/BLS
• Open to IMLC Pediatricians

Practice Setting

• Inpatient pediatric department
• Low-volume unit with only 6 pediatric beds
• Beeper call only — no overnight in-hospital coverage
• Supported by 2 RNs on-site

Schedule

• 24-hour call shifts, 7am–7am
• Only 1–2 weekends per month needed — you choose
• Block scheduling and long-term availability possible
• Summer start — June dates still open
• No supervision or teaching required

Procedures and Cases

• Age range: birth through 18 years
• Must be comfortable with UVCs
• Assigned and unassigned patients during call
• No surgical privileges required

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible (within 5 years) in Pediatrics
• Active Virginia license or IMLC LOQ
• Minimum 3 years of experience
• PALS certification required

Credentialing Requirements

• Estimated credentialing time: 60 days
• Temporary privileges available
