Summary

• I am currently an internal medicine resident at the University of Iowa - Des Moines internal medicine residency program at Unity Point Health - Des Moines. With my background in medical records and medical insurance billing, after starting medical school I became eager to utilize my background in insurance by aiming to expand my knowledge of healthcare administration and policy. I decided to pursue the dual degree MD-MBA to gain a better understanding of the business of medicine. After completing residency I plan on continuing to learn about the structure and policies of the healthcare system to improve patient outcomes and the health of the system as a whole.
  
  I have a passion for medicine because of the potential to influence individual's lives in a meaningful way, and I believe a business degree will allow me to broaden my influence to affect the structure of healthcare delivery systems. I believe this is an exciting time in healthcare policy and am eager to be a part of the changes, whatever they may be. My dream is to make preventative medicine profitable.
  
  In my previous work experience, I have been consistently recognized for my work ethic, my eagerness to take on new challenges, exceeding expectations, and my positive attitude.
  
  In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, biking, reading for pleasure, and spending time with family and friends.
