Summary

• My current role within an organization is Medical Director of Occupational and Employee Health for Palomar Health System in north county San Diego. Our department functions to provide and manage the care of injured workers within the Palomar Health system, as well as many business entities throughout northern San Diego. We strive to provide optimum care to our patients, minimize lost work time, and facilitate safe return to work.
  
  Independent of Palomar Health, I function as a Qualified Medical Examiner in the state of California in the field of Internal Medicine. As a QME, I function in the CA Workers' Compensation system to provide opinions regarding medical issues in cases where dispute exists, framing the opinions in a med-legal format. Disputes often involve issues regarding causation, the existence or extent of disability that may be present and need for active and/or future medical care. The range of conditions assessed is broad, including but not limited to neurologic, cardiovascular, pulmonary, endocrine, GI, urologic, dermatologic, renal, hematologic, oncologic, and rheumatologic domains. I enjoy formulating reports that are data driven, supported by well referenced medical citations, and structured to demonstrate that the standard of substantial evidence has been met. Participation in the med-legal process has facilitated the maintenance and growth of my medical knowledge across the spectrum.
