- Dr. Smigiel grew up in Rye, New York. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Biology with departmental honors from McGill University in Montreal, Canada. She went on to obtain her Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from New York Medical College, followed by a Pediatric residency at NYU Langone Medical Center. She then completed fellowship training in Allergy and Immunology at LAC+USC Medical Center in conjunction with Keck Hospital of USC in Los Angeles, California.
Since completing her fellowship in 2019, Dr. Smigiel has been treating patients in Pasadena, California, at The Allergy and Asthma Specialist Doctors, Inc. She has been recognized on both the Los Angeles and Pasadena Top Doctors lists.
She made the move back to Westchester, New York in the summer of 2025.
Dr. Smigiel has contributed to multiple scientific research projects and has presented her work at national scientific meetings. Her areas of expertise include nasal and eye allergies, asthma, chronic cough, atopic dermatitis/eczema, eosinophilic esophagitis, nasal polyps, food allergy, and immunodeficiency
