David S. Weiss, MD, is an orthopedist in private practice, specializing in performing arts medicine. Dr. Weiss is Orthopedist to Mark Morris Dance Group, Paul Taylor Dance Company, Parsons Dance Company, Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo, and Ballet Hispanico. He served as the Orthopedic Consultant to The Juilliard School, working with musicians, dancers, actors, and singers, from 1988 to 2020, and as Orthopedist for the Merce Cunningham Dance Company until 2011, when the company disbanded. He has served as Orthopedist for over 100 Broadway and off-Broadway theatrical productions, including The Will Rogers Follies, Guys & Dolls, Miss Saigon, Cats, The Who’s Tommy, Grease, Matthew Bourne’s Swan Lake, La Cage aux Folles, Monty Python’s Spamalot, Chita Rivera – The Dancer’s Life, Follies, Riverdance on Broadway, Wicked, Chicago, The Book of Mormon, Groundhog Day, Cabaret, Gypsy, and Hamilton.
