  • Today there is a wealth of information about heart and vascular disease available at your fingertips, on your smartphones, tablets and computers. Together with this information comes the important responsibility of separating the wheat from the chaff, and identifying what is pertinent to one's particular condition. No two persons are alike, and it is naive to assume that everyone with the same disease should be treated the same, in a cookie-cutter fashion. As a responsible steward of knowledge in cardiovascular medicine, I believe it is my duty to provide that individualized care, tailoring evidence-based medicine to the patients situation, and not vice versa. This is the first step towards truly personalized medicine.
