  • Catherine Brett, MD, MPH, is the Alliant Health Solutions Quality Director for the Mississippi Utilization Management/Quality Improvement Organization (UM/QIO). As quality director, she develops and administers quality improvement activities for the Fee for Service and MississippiCAN programs for the Mississippi Division of Medicaid (DOM). She coordinates improvement activities across the delivery systems for DOM as well as with external stakeholders.

    Dr. Brett is a board-certified preventive medicine and women's health expert with over 20 years of experience in the medical field. A skilled clinician and surgeon, she has routinely received patient satisfaction awards during her clinical practice.

    A graduate of the University of Missouri- Kansas City School of Medicine, she completed residency at Georgetown University in Obstetrics & Gynecology and was selected by peers to be the academic chief resident. She received the Medstar award for Outstanding Patient Care each year of her residency. After seeing a growing public health crisis in perinatal patients in Mississippi, Dr. Brett decided to return for a second residency to re-specialize in preventive medicine and public health while also pursuing a master’s degree in public health from the University of South Carolina.

    Dr. Brett serves on the advocacy committee for the American College of Preventive Medicine (ACPM) where she also evaluates peers as a member of the ACPM maintenance of certification committee. She is a member of the American Medical Association, the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. She also serves as an adjunct clinical faculty member for William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine (WCUCOM) and is a guest lecturer for the UMMC Preventive Medicine Residency program.
