Summary
- I am a residency trained and board certified Emergency Medicine Specialist with over 30 years of experience with emphasis on the latest evidence based practice and local/national involvement in the advancing of specialty care in the areas of critical care, stroke identification and management, critical aspects of cardiovascular diseases, ultrasonography application in emergency medicine and administrative management of any size emergency Department.
The past 10 years, I have taken interest in addressing challenges in emergency medicine
I am passionate about Emergency Medicine Advocacy, working to ensure sustainable reimbursement to maintain emergency departments as the nation's healthcare safety net.
My focus includes addressing physician workforce sustainability by combating burnout, reducing attrition, and promoting long-term staffing solutions.
I advocate for reimbursement reform to establish payment models that truly reflect the cost of emergency care, and I support strategies to reduce non-emergent ER overload by improving primary care access and incentivizing urgent care use.
Additionally, I am committed to resource expansion and training support, seeking increased funding for emergency department staffing, infrastructure, and physician education.
I actively support efforts to resolve overcrowding and boarding issues by streamlining hospital admissions and discharges.
My advocacy extends to administrative efficiency, aiming for CMS reforms that better align with the realities of emergency medicine.
I am particularly focused on optimizing elderly care in emergency settings, ensuring better management for aging populations with complex needs. Finally, I prioritize workplace safety, championing stronger protections for healthcare workers in emergency medicine.
