  • Haidn Foster, M.D. is a resident physician in Internal Medicine at Penn State Health. He is a national leader in organized medicine, advocating for patients and physicians in the American Medical Association and the American College of Physicians.

    Dr. Foster is chair-elect of the American Medical Association Resident and Fellow Section. He also serves as a delegate to the AMA House of Delegates, endorsed by the Pennsylvania Medical Society (PAMED). He is passionate about equitable health care delivery and has written extensive AMA policy focused on improving the health of sexual and gender minorities.

    In the American College of Physicians (ACP), the country’s largest organization represeting Internal Medicine physicians and trainees, Dr. Foster is one of 14 members of the national Council of Resident/Fellow Members, advising the ACP Board of Regents and Board of Governors on issues of postgraduate Internal Medicine training. He is also the resident/fellow member of the ACP Health and Public Policy Committee, in which he works to establish position statements of the College on issues relating to policy that affect the health of patients and the practice of medicine.

    Dr. Foster is chair of the Pennsylvania Medical Society Resident and Fellow Section and serves as a delegate to the PAMED House of Delegates.

    As a medical student, Dr. Foster was chair of the American Medical Association Medical Student Section (MSS), presiding over the MSS governing council, helping to direct the section’s programs and activities, and acting as chief spokesperson for the section’s 55,000+ medical student members.
