  • A third generation physician, Dr. King graduated with honors from the University of Florida and received his medical degree from the University of South Florida College of Medicine. Following his internship and residency at the University of Tennessee in Memphis, Dr. King completed a fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of Cincinnati. While there, he received the “Golden Apple" house staff teaching award.

    Dr. King is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association, the American College of Physicians, the American College of Gastroenterology, and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He has published a number of articles in medical journals and was voted by his peers as one of Gwinnett’s Best Doctors. He has received numerous patient awards on Vitals and Health Grades. He was named a Fellow of the American Gastroenterological Association in 2010 for his accomplishments and contributions to the field of gastroenterology.

    Dr. King treats patients with a wide variety of gastrointestinal diseases and has a particular interest in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), GERD and Barrett's esophagus, ame pancreatico-biliary disorders. He also has a subspecialty interest in hepatology and management of hepatitis B, hepatitis C, and patients with decompensated cirrhosis. In addition to performing standard G.I. diagnostic procedures,he is experienced in advanced therapeutic procedures including ERCP. He is deeply committed to evidence-based medicine and has moderated a local monthly GI journal club for over 15 years.

    Dr. King has worked with community medical clinics and has served on multiple overseas medical trips. He served as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Emory University School of Medicine from 2000 to 2013. He joined Atlanta Gastroenterology Associates as a partner in 2000 and transitioned to medical consulting in 2020.
