Summary
- Dr. Allen joined The Department of Family Medicine in 2016 as a Resident in training serving as Chief Resident in his final year of post graduate training. He currently holds an Assistant Professor/Clinical Faculty position as a board certified Family Medicine Physician in addition to being the Director of Quality Management for the department.
Dr. Allen has both an outpatient clinic focusing on quality of life improvement and shares an academic inpatient teaching service.
Dr. Allen received a Bachelors of Science and graduated with honors as Summa Cum Laude from The University of Houston in Houston, Texas. He then earned his Doctorate of Medicine from the McGovern Medical School in Houston, Texas with the honors of Alpha Omega Alpha. Dr. Allen is certified in Family Medicine (ABFM), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), Advanced Neonatal Life Support (ANLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). He is skilled in managing and coordinating care for a wide range of acute and chronic conditions and has a special interest in sustained weight loss, mood disorders and pain management.
