Dr. Sohail R. Shah is a board-certified pediatric surgeon, with advanced minimally invasive surgery training, that provides care in all aspects of neonatal and pediatric surgery. He has special interests in gastrointestinal surgery, neonatal surgery, congenital anomalies, and chest wall deformities (pectus). His practice includes minimally invasive thoracic and abdominal surgery for pediatric patients of all ages (neonates through adolescents).
Dr. Shah also has a Master of Science in Healthcare Administration, and has previously served in several administrative roles including Medical Director of the inpatient surgical unit and Surgical Director of Telemedicine and Outreach at Children’s Mercy Hospital (Kansas City, Missouri).
Dr. Shah’s research interests focus on enhancing pediatric surgical outcomes, improving healthcare delivery, and establishing evidence-based practice guidelines. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles, written book chapters, and given dozens of presentations to national and international audiences on a full range of pediatric surgery topics. He is currently a candidate for a Master of Science in Clinical Research from the University of Kansas Medical Center.
Dr. Shah is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP). His other professional memberships include the American Pediatric Surgical Association, Association for Academic Surgery, and International Pediatric Endosurgery Group.
