Summary
- Dr. Ajay Bhatnagar is the founder of the Prostate Cancer Institute of America (PCIA) as the only practice of its kind in the country focusing exclusively on innovative treatments such as low dose rate prostate brachytherapy in the treatment of localized prostate cancer. With the original practice based in Arizona where he resides, there are now divisions throughout the country across numerous states.
Born in London, England, Dr. Bhatnagar received his BS in Bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania, graduating magna cum laude. He received his MD and MBA from the University of Pittsburgh as well as postgraduate medical training in Radiation Oncology. He has been in clinical practice for more than 20 years, performing prostate brachytherapy. He currently serves on the board of the Maricopa Medical Society and Arizona Medical Association and was previously the president of the Arizona Radiology Society.
In 2024, Dr. Bhatnagar was awarded Phoenix Magazine’s TOP DOC award in Radiation Oncology, and then was named 2025 Top Physician in Paradise Valley and most recently named 2026 US TOP DOC. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, skiing, and playing golf with his family.
