He received his MD from Yale School of Medicine and completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Michigan, followed by a fellowship in spine surgery at Case Western Reserve University. His expertise includes cervical radiculopathy, spondylolisthesis, cervical myelopathy, lumbar spinal stenosis, and motion-sparing procedures for the cervical spine including disc replacement and cervical laminoplasty. Dr. Hilibrand has over 500 peer-reviewed publications, including in The New England Journal of Medicine and The Journal of the American Medical Association. He is The Joseph and Marie Field Professor of Spinal Surgery and Vice-Chairman of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University and Rothman Orthopaedics.
