• We are Pacific Neuropsychiatric Specialists (PNS) and our experience enables us to offer effective outpatient, individualized, psychiatric care. We treat a number of mental health disorders, and provide the highest level of psychiatric care. Our outpatient psychiatry practice was founded on the principles of treating patients with care, compassion, and understanding. We provide psychiatric treatments for children, adolescents, adults, and seniors, from multiple offices located throughout Orange County (Costa Mesa, Huntington Beach, Orange, and coming soon to Mission Viejo).
  
  Alejandro Alva, MD, is the founder, chief medical officer, and CEO of Pacific Neuropsychiatric Specialists (PNS). He sees psychiatric patients of all ages at the practice’s at most of our locations, with a focus on substance abuse and chemical dependency treatment and general psychiatric disorders.
  
  To keep up with the latest advancements in psychiatric care, Dr. Alva maintains active membership in a number of professional medical organizations, including the American Medical Association, the Orange County Medical Association, the American Psychiatric Association, and the California Psychiatric Association, as well as multiple others.
  
  He is also a member of several specialty organizations and boards, including the American Board of Forensic Medicine, the American College of Forensic Examiners, and the American Board of Psychopharmacology.
  
  Like most of the PNS staff, Dr. Alva is bilingual and bi-cultural. He believes that it is his duty to reach out to the Latino community as well as the general community. To help him understand the mental health barrier
