Summary
- CLINICAL CARE
As a pediatric plastic surgeon, I strive to take the very best care of children that is possible. My areas of clinical focus include cleft lip/palate; craniofacial disorders (such as plagiocephaly, craniosynostosis, and hemifacial microsomia); craniomaxillofacial trauma; ear anomalies (such as microtia); functional and cosmetic rhinoplasty; obstetrical brachial plexus palsy; and vascular anomalies (such as hemangioma and lymphatic or venous malformations). I feel honored and privileged to be entrusted with the care of children, and I take this responsibility very seriously. Each child’s particular situation is unique. Therefore, in consultation, we will discuss your concerns and agree upon a plan that will yield the best outcome possible for your child.
RESEARCH
My research interests cover the gamut of health-services research and include traditional clinical outcomes research, patient-reported outcomes, comparative effectiveness review, economic analysis, health-technology assessment, and management and policy studies. I have a particular interest in informatics, data analytics and visualization, and dissemination and implementation. My goal is to develop “metrics that matter” — standardized methods to assess outcomes that are meaningful to patients. I focus especially on improving integration of these data into the clinical workflow of multidisciplinary teams, where communication and coordination of care are critical for success.
