- Dr. Alexander L. Ayzengart is a minimally invasive gastroesophageal and bariatric surgeon, practicing in Reno, NV. He received his medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School and completed his surgical residency at the University of California San Francisco. Dr. Ayzengart was then employed as an active duty Navy general surgeon prior to completing his fellowship in minimally invasive gastroesophageal and bariatric surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. After his fellowship, Dr. Ayzengart was employed as academic surgeon at the University of Florida Health in Gainesville, where he performed a wide variety of complex bariatric and gastroesophageal surgery. He has been in surgical practice for more than 10 years and specializes in bariatric surgery, foregut surgery, and gastroesophageal malignant disease. His specialty interests include esophageal cancer, gastric cancer, GERD, esophageal motility disorders, and bariatric revisional surgery.
