• Dr. Alla Shapiro completed her residency training at the University of Chicago Hospitals.
  She has also been trained in CL.
  For the past 13 years, Dr. Shapiro was Chief of the Acute psychiatric Teaching unit and Medical director of training at Kings County Hospital Center, as well as Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at SUNY Downstate Medical Center. She has been Chief of the teaching unit at the Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center, has been teaching residents and students (the Albert Einshtein College of Medicine) adult acute psychiatry and forensics at the Bronx State Psychiatric Center. She has won numerous distinguished awards and honors (including several APA rewards) and is passionate about working with indigent multicultural populations, including addressing forensic issues and violence. She is board-certified in psychiatry and neurology and psychosomatic medicine. Dr Alla Shapiro is also trained in psychodynamic therapy. Hobbies: traveling, hiking, nature, history, literature.
