Summary

  • I am an Associate Professor in the department of Oncology, School of Medicine, Wayne State University. My main areas of interest are immuno-oncology, head and neck cancer and thoracic oncology. I am the head and neck multi-disciplinary team leader at Karmanos Cancer Institute (KCI) since 2014. I am a member of Eisenberg Center for Translational Therapeutics. I worked on multiple early development phase-I/transitional clinical trials in head and neck cancer, thoracic oncology and other solid tumors. During my 10 years at KCI, I published many publications, including peer to peer-reviewed original works, case reports, and abstracts. I was able to build a very busy oncology clinic at Karmanos Wertz clinic in Detroit and at Karmanos Weisberg in Farmington Hills, where I treat so many of my patients on therapeutic clinical trials. I play a crucial role in the Hem/Onc fellowship program and I was chosen the teacher of the year in 2016 by our fellows. I supervise so many of them in their continuity clinic and I mentored few fellows to complete their research projects, which resulted in multiple presentations in national and international oncology meetings as well as high quality publications. I received the Wayne State College teaching award in 2017.

I am ready to transition into a leadership position. My dream is to build a multi-disciplinary immuno-oncology/precision medicine program, with a focus on high quality research and a comprehensive oncology care.
