Andrew Zwijack MD

Summary

• I was raised 30 minutes off the South Side of Chicago in Hickory Hills, Illinois and left my concrete comfort zone to piney Helena, Montana to attend college. I graduated Carroll College with a Bachelors of Arts in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology with a minor in Chemistry in May of 2021. In my early undergraduate years, I raced collegiate cross country and track. In the latter half of said years, I began prioritizing my growing interest in emergency medical services through training and employment as an Emergency Medical Technician. I learned immensely valuable lessons during this part of my life, which ultimately confirmed that I wanted to go to medical school.
  
  I was fortunate enough secure a spot in the Class of 2025 at Rosalind Franklin University Chicago School of Medicine. At the time I am writing this, I am a third year medical student actively pursuing a career as an emergency medicine physician. In ten years, I hope to lead a team of health professionals that consistently coordinates the highest standard of emergency care possible as well as advocates for systems and decision-making that makes emergency care more effective, appropriate, and equitable.
  
  Outside of medicine, I enjoy running ultramarathons, listening to podcasts on exercise and wellness, practicing non-dual meditation, learning acoustic guitar, and spending quality time with family and friends.
