Summary

  • I am a SUNY Distinguished Professor and Chair of Psychiatry at Stony Brook University School of Medicine. My research uses multimodal imaging, including molecular imaging, to examine functional and molecular brain abnormalities in major mental illnesses and their relationships to symptom domains. I have studied schizophrenia, addiction and comorbidity and uncovered topographical alterations in dopamine in these conditions that are directly relevant to treatment. I am past President of ACNP (2017) and a member of the National Academy of Medicine (NAM), currently Chair of section 7 on the membership committee of NAM.
