Summary
- Until recently, I have been working with the Center for Physician Rights (CPR), (www.PhysicianRights.net) an organization dedicated to advise and support physicians who are being investigated and/or disciplined unfairly by their state medical boards, physician health programs or peer review committees. I am a contributing editor of a book that CPR is currently developing about these subjects, tentatively entitled "The Disrupted Physician," the name of a blog by Michael Langan of DisruptedPhysician.com From August, 1985 to April, 2017, I was a board certified family physician in active clinical practice. I am also cowriting a book "Top Echelon" by Angela Clemente about her experiences as a Forensic Intelligence analyst. Previously, I had spent most of my career as an independent contractor working in many venues, including urgent care, emergency medicine, family medicine, public health, student health, correctional medicine and addiction medicine. I have also written articles and op-ed pieces that have been published in multiple media such as newspapers (including the Washington Post and the Roanoke Times), American Medical News, Emergency Medicine, Family Practice News and The Archives of Family Medicine. I spend one year teaching at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC and one year as Health Educator at Radford University in Radford, VA
