- Dr. Ariela Marshall is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Minnesota. She is a classical hematologist in the division of Hematology, Oncology, and Transplantation and practices as an inpatient consultative hematologist, with a specific interest in disorders of thrombosis and hemostasis in women. Dr. Marshall is also a career medical educator. She is the Program Director of the UMN Hematology-Oncology fellowship program and serves on the University of Minnesota Medical School Admissions Committee. She was previously selected from an international pool as the inaugural Section Lead, Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) for the Lancet Haematology and has published extensively in the areas of education and DEI. Dr. Marshall currently holds extramural leadership roles with the American Society of Hematology, American Medical Women’s Association, and the Women in Medicine 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization. She speaks regularly on a national and international scope to discuss her efforts to advance career development and mentorship for physicians, gender equity, fertility/infertility awareness, parental health and wellbeing, reproductive health and rights, and work-life integration. She is proud of having a career that allows her to practice medicine in a context that emphasizes her education and advocacy work.
