  • Arnold Peter Weiss is an academic hand surgeon. He served as past Editor of the Journal of Hand Surgery and has published over 178 peer-reviewed publications, given over 360 national and international presentations and authored 7 books. He is the current Managing Editor of the ASSH Textbook of Hand & Upper Extremity Surgery. Dr. Weiss holds current NIH RO-1 grant studying Thumb arthritis and hold multiple US patents for clinically available orthopedic implants. He founded or served on the Board of Directors for 6 medical device companies, three acquired by strategics and 2 national non-profits. He is currently an Examiner for American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He serves as the Chief of the Division of Hand & Upper Extremity Surgery at Brown University/Rhode Island Hospital. Dr. Weiss serves as a Trustee of the American Foundation for Surgery of the Hand and of the National Rowing Foundation. He has special research interests in total wrist arthroplasty, wrist reconstruction surgery and carpal tunnel syndrome.
