- Dr. Azad Jabiev is an endocrine surgeon based in Springfield, Massachusetts. He completed a fellowship in surgical endocrinology at The University of Miami/Jackson Health System, following his general surgery residency at Baystate Medical Center/Tufts University and his medical training at the Azerbaijan State Medical Institute.
He currently serves as Chief of Endocrine Surgery at Baystate Medical Center and is a full-time faculty member at UMass Chan Medical School–Baystate. Dr. Jabiev specializes in the management of benign and malignant endocrine disorders, including advanced, metastatic, and recurrent thyroid cancer; parathyroid disease—with expertise in minimally invasive and reoperative parathyroidectomy—and adrenal tumors, including pheochromocytoma and adrenal malignancies. His practice emphasizes a minimally invasive, patient-centered approach.
He also serves as Surgery Clerkship Director at UMass Chan Medical School-Baystate where he is actively involved in the education and mentorship of medical students and residents.
Dr. Jabiev has contributed to peer-reviewed publications in areas including adrenal infarction, primary hyperparathyroidism, surgeon-performed ultrasound, and thyroid cancer. He also holds multiple CMS Meaningful Use Stage certifications through Cerner Corporation and FairWarning Technologies.
