Alex Vakili, M.D., is an interventional cardiologist and endovascular specialist certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, with subspecialty certification in interventional cardiology and cardiovascular disease. He is also certified by the American Board of Venous & Lymphatic Medicine as well as American Board of Vascular Medicine and specializes in treating patients with vein and vein related conditions. His outpatient practice provides a full range of venous treatments, including sclerotherapy, Laser YAG and IPL treatment of spider and facial veins, ultrasound-guided foam sclerotherapy, ambulatory phlebectomy, VenaSealTM Closure System, IVUS, venous stenting and radiofrequency ablation using the ClosureFast™ catheter.
    Dr. Vakili earned his medical degree with distinction for research in cardiovascular medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, NY. He completed an internal medicine residency at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, New York, NY. After serving as Chief Cardiology Fellow, he completed an interventional cardiology fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center, affiliated with Albert Einstein College of Medicine. In addition to his work at his private clinic, Heart Vein & Vascular LLC, Dr. Vakili is Clinical Director and Principal Investigator for the Clinical Trials Division of Certified Physician Investigator Research Group LLC. Dr. Vakili is a certified national Principal investigator (CPI) researcher and has conducted numerous clinical trials involving anticoagulation regimens and cardiovascular treatments and medications.
    An active researcher and industry consultant, Dr. Vakili has participated in more than a dozen clinical research trials, often serving as principal investigator.
