She completed her medical education with a fellowship in infectious disease at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center following her residency in internal medicine at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. She graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in 1975. Dr. Weiser has contributed significantly to the field through numerous publications, including studies on antiretroviral therapy, HIV tropism, and the link between molecular and clinical aspects of HIV disease, with an emphasis on HIV mother-to-child transmission and HIV-infected women, with several of her works being cited multiple times by peers.
