Summary

• I am a third-year medical student with a strong interest in community-engaged and under-resourced medicine with a value of scientific advancements to improve health. I have a special interest in philanthropy to advance research and healthcare access, with valuable experience planning our annual Breast Cancer Walk for the Bearden Josey Center for Breast Health, where I raised the greatest amount of funds in my medical school's history. Similarly, I served as a committee member for the Overdose Prevention Task Force and was fortuned the opportunity to spread awareness to my community regarding illicit drug abuse, along with volunteer at the local Go Forth Recovery Center by teaching wellness lectures to their clients. My research experience ranges from developing a proposed algorithm for pain management based on individual pharmacogenetic response, comparing the duration of balloon angioplasty on arterio-venous fistula patency for dialysis access, and case reports. I graduated from Furman University in 2020 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Health Science. During my time there, I researched the accuracy of treadmill caloric expenditure estimates, and assisted in research projects at the Prisma Health Center for Integrative Oncology and Survivorship. I will be applying to internal medicine residency during the 2024-2025 cycle. My future goals are to enrich the health of my community through commitment to service, philanthropy, and research.
