Dr. Bargoty earned his medical degree from the University of Baghdad College of Medicine before completing his Internal Medicine residency and Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine fellowship at the George Washington University Hospital in Washington, DC. With numerous years of clinical experience, Dr. Bargoty has expertise in treating a variety of conditions such as Asthma, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Interstitial Lung Disease, Pleural Effusions, Lung Nodules, Lung Cancer, and Pulmonary Hypertension, in addition to all aspects of Critical Care Medicine. As a skilled Interventional Pulmonologist, Dr. Bargoty conducts advanced Bronchoscopy for the diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer and pulmonary disease. He has numerous medical research publications to his credit and was honored with the American Thoracic Society Abstract Scholarship Award at The American Thoracic Society International Conference in 2014. Dr. Bargoty also enjoys teaching medical students and serves as an adjunct faculty at Lincoln Memorial University DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine. In addition to his clinical and teaching roles, Dr. Bargoty provides medical legal counseling and medical expert witness opinions. Outside of his professional life, Dr. Bargoty enjoys outdoor activities around Knoxville and the Smoky Mountains with his wife and two children. He is fluent in English and Arabic, and has basic knowledge of Hebrew.
