He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Pittsburgh in Emergency Medicine, received his masters of science degree in biophysics and physiology from Georgetown University, and his medical degree from New York Medical College. He completed a general surgery residency at Temple University Hospital, Philadelphia, and later went on to complete fellowships in both Surgical Critical Care and Acute Care Surgery at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, University of Maryland Medical Center. Dr. Moran is a member of the American College of Surgeons, Society of Critical Care Medicine, and the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma.
