- I am a Board Certified Gastroenterologist with clinical and research interests in gastrointestinal infectious disease, tropical medicine and parasitology. I am also a Fellow of the Infectious Disease Society of America (IDSA) as a result of my clinical and research contributions to infectious and post-infectious chronic gastrointestinal syndromes post travel and novel enteric pathogens. I am the Medical Director of the New York Center for Travel and Tropical Medicine, Past President of the International Society of Travel Medicine (ISTM), and New York City site director for GeoSentinel, the emerging infectious disease network of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
