Summary

  • Brenda Arrington is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She is a part of the family practice medical team at Steele Memorial Medical Center in Salmon, Idaho. Brenda has more than 30 years of experience in the health care industry.

She received her Master of Science in Nursing with honors from the University of Texas Medical Branch in 1989, and her Post-Master’s Family Nurse Practitioner Specialization in 1999, from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. Brenda’s Family Practice experience includes a heavy emphasis on internal medicine, with time also spent in urgent care and the emergency room. Brenda is a native Texan but fell in love with Idaho and so that is where she ended up. She has worked in both Moscow, ID and Blackfoot, ID.

Brenda has always lived by her philosophy of making a meaningful difference in the lives of her neighbors and friends in the community where she works and lives. She has a strong ethic of giving back and a passion for using her knowledge and skills in humanitarian service to others. She has worked on many medical missions in Africa, serving four times in just the past five years in Tanzania, Uganda, and Rwanda. Aside from learning much about tropical medicine, she most enjoys her time spent with children and the elderly. Brenda says she has been richly blessed in life by being given opportunities to show God’s love to the underserved, and speaks of her work in medical missions as “my calling in life.”

In her leisure time, Brenda loves to hike, ATV and camp in the mountains, shoot, garden, cook, read, and running her dog Seka. Brenda and her husband look forward to many years spent dragging 6 children and their grandkids around the Salmon-Challis National Forest.

Brenda says, “To succeed in life you need three things: a wishbone, a backbone, and a funny bone.”
