Summary

  • I am an Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Michigan in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. I specialize in primary and revision joint replacement (arthroplasty) of the hip and knee.
    In addition, with my Co-Director, we started and run the Michigan Arthroplasty Registry Collaborative Quality Initiative (www.MARCQI.org) a statewide quality improvement project improving the care for hip and knee arthroplasty patients in Michigan.
    I have also been appointed as the Associate Chief of Staff for Michigan Medicine. I have served on multiple quality related boards at the University of Michigan in addition to positions on an Ad-Hoc Committee for the National Quality Forum, the Data Committee of the American Joint Replacement Registry (AJRR) and the Measures Committee for AHRQ.
    Dr. Hallstrom is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is an active member in multiple societies including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, the American Orthopaedic Association and the Michigan Orthopaedic Society.
