  • Britta L. Bureau is a Neurology Resident Physician at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW). She graduated with her MD from MCW in May 2022. She was the sole recipient of The Dyke Award in Neurology given by the Medical College of WI Department of Neurology based on best exemplifying thoroughness, excellence and concern in caring patients with neurological disease. While attending MCW, Britta served as Co-President of the Student Interest Group in Neurology, American Medical Student Association, and the Medical College of Wisconsin Pre-Med Pair Up.


    Britta graduated in May 2018 from Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI with a B.S. in Biomedical Sciences and a Neuroscience minor, with a 3.9/4.0 GPA. She graduated with Excellence in Research and Excellence in Leadership and Service Awards. While attending Marquette University, Britta served as Vice President and Executive Board Member of Marquette University's Pre-Health Peer Mentorship Program. She was a Teaching Assistant for Marquette University's Biomedical Sciences Anatomy lab.


    Britta was a Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin Neurosurgery Research Assistant September 2018 to May 2022. Previously, she was a Mayo Clinic Neurology Department Research Assistant beginning summer 2016 until September 2018 working on five research projects summers, college breaks, and remotely while attending college. Britta has eight medical research publications, with two more in progress. Britta’s research has been accepted for two oral presentation and thirteen poster presentations at national and international conferences.


    As an avid community medical and service volunteer, Britta has led the smoking cessation program at Milwaukee’s free medical clinic City on the Hill. She volunteered at Aurora Sinai Medical Center Emergency Department and Day Surgery Center and led training for new volunteers.
