  • Dr Bruce Haughey is an American Board Certified Otolaryngologist-Head and Neck surgeon in the United States (Diplomate American Board of Otolaryngology), and specialty-qualified Otolaryngologist Head and Neck Surgeon in Australasia (Fellowship, Royal Australian College of Surgeons) . He underwent medical school, residency and fellowship training at the Universities of Auckland (New Zealand) and the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa, respectively. He currently is based at AdventHealth Celebration in Orlando, Florida and is Professor of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (Collaborative) at the University of South Florida and Professor of Surgery (Honorary) at The University of Auckland School of Medicine, Auckland, New Zealand.
    He is emeritus the Kimbrough Professorship in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Washington University School of Medicine in St Louis MO, USA.

    He specializes in head and neck oncologic , minimally invasive surgery, (transoral laser ) and head and neck reconstructive surgery, to maximize throat, mouth and head and neck cancer control , maintain or restore speech and swallowing functions and optimize cosmesis (appearance). Dr. Haughey is widely published in the medical literature (see Pubmed.gov , Haughey BH or Haughey B) and maintains a schedule of patient care and invited speaker engagements with his specialty colleagues worldwide. His ResearchGate score is over 40, reflecting the high impact of his scholarly work . This has formed hypotheses for FDA -approved Phase III clinical trials and parts of the new AJCC/UICC 8th Edition Head and Neck Cancer staging.
