- Dr. Calhoun D. Cunningham III is a Raleigh-based otolaryngologist with subspecialty expertise in Neurotology. He completed medical school and Otolaryngology residency at the Medical University of South Carolina, followed by a neurotology fellowship at the House Ear Clinic in Los Angeles, California. He currently serves as an Associate Professor of Head and Neck Surgery & Communication Sciences at Duke University Medical Center, and is the medical director of the Duke Cochlear Implant program. His areas of expertise include , acoustic neuroma surgery, skull base surgery, stapedectomy and revision stapedectomy for otosclerosis, cochlear implants, tympanoplasty and mastoidectomy surgery for chronic ear infections and tympanic membrane repair, revision mastoidectomy surgery, repair of CSF leaks, superior semicircular canal dehiscence syndrome and implantable hearing devices. Dr. Cunningham has numerous authoritative publications and has lectured extensively both nationally and internationally.
