Summary

  • Dr. Wick is board certified in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery and Neurotology. He specializes in surgery of the ear (otology) and lateral skull base (neurotology). This includes, but is not limited to, minimally invasive endoscopic ear surgery for adults and children, cochlear implants, otosclerosis/stapes surgery, cholesteatoma, implantable hearing devices, and tympanic membrane (ear drum) repair. Lateral skull base conditions he treats include vestibular schwannoma (acoustic neuroma), temporal bone tumors, cancers of the ear, paragangliomas, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leaks, and Bell’s palsy/facial paralysis.

    Dr. Wick’s expertise has led to national leadership positions through the Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery and the American Neurotology Society. He is a Fellow of the American Neurotology Society and co-chair of the Young American Neurotology Society committee. He serves on the editorial board for the journal Otology & Neurotology and is an ad-hoc reviewer for many other well-respected otolaryngology and neurosurgical journals. To date, he has authored and published nearly 40 peer-reviewed articles, 11 book-chapters, multiple surgical videos, and developed patient-friendly material to help explain ear disorders (www.ENTHealth.org). His research efforts led to a Cochrane Scholarship via the American Otological Society and American Neurotology Society (2018) and a first-place video presentation at the World Congress on Endoscopic Ear Surgery (2019). He continues to be active in ear and skull base research as well as resident and fellow education.
