Summary

  • As Pharmacogenomics (PGx) Pharmacist Consultant at Genome Medical, Inc. (and previously as Pharmacogenomics Lead Consultant), I assisted in the startup of their PGx consulting service by vetting PGx labs, interpreting PGx results, curating, evaluation of precision prescribing software, and helping to refine the workflow process. I have evaluated and made pharmacogenomic recommendations for hundreds of patients including cancer, pediatric, geriatric, and self-referred patients.
Contact me to hear my personal PGx story. I'm very thankful that my PGx results were available before needing a certain medication. For several reasons, I am a proponent of preemptive PGx testing.
Clinical pharmacists are the only healthcare providers with the expertise required for PGx interpretations/recommendations and MTM. Both have been shown to decrease time to optimal therapy, adverse effects, hospitalizations/re-hospitalizations, and cost; and to increase medication adherence, safety, and quality of life. Both are covered by Medicare (Part B & some Part C) & Medicaid with no out-of-pocket expenses in many cases.
    Training: PGY1 Pharmacy Practice residency
Certifications: PGx, PGx certificate trainer, MTM, diabetes, and immunizations
Skills: 25+ yrs clinical, 6 yrs community, & 5+ yrs pharmacy academia; anticoagulation management; clinical pharmacy & pharmacokinetic programs development; disease management; antibiotic surveillance; formulary evaluations/decisions; and healthcare professional education
I am very happy to offer encouragement/prayer/advice from my faith as part of healthcare provision. I regularly donate part of my income to my church, the International Justice Mission, and (also participate in) medical/evangelical missions.
