• Dr. Catherine Ham, MD, is a leading expert in headache medicine and the founder of the VCU Headache Clinic, where she served as director from 2016 to 2024. Under her leadership, the clinic adopted a patient-centered approach, with a specially designed suite and a multi-disciplinary team, growing the headache team to three providers. Dr. Ham is currently developing a new headache clinic at CAMC in Charleston, WV, as part of a federally funded Neuroscience Initiative.
  Throughout her career, Dr. Ham has been a passionate educator, speaking regionally on headache topics and striving to expand awareness of headache medicine among her colleagues. Since 2016, she has served as the clerkship director for headache medicine, overseeing medical students and residents, while also teaching neuroscience and leading injection workshops. Her mentorship has been instrumental in the careers of 8 residents, 5 of whom pursued headache fellowships.
  Dr. Ham is dedicated to further advancing the field and plans to establish a headache fellowship within the next 1-2 years, continuing her commitment to training the next generation of headache specialists.
