- Catherine McDonald is a Family Nurse Practitioner based in Hampton, VA. She spent 14 years as a RN, working oncology, neurosurgery, labor and delivery, and critical care in the great state of Michigan. Catherine completed her BSN in 1986 and then commissioned into the U.S. Navy in 1987. In 1991, she returned from Saudi Arabia where she had deployed for the first Gulf War. She then transferred into the Selective Reserves and moved back to Michigan to obtain her Master's degree in 1993 from Michigan State University. Her next 3 years were spent in private practice with a focus on pediatrics. She then went back on active duty to complete 28 years of active service, and 4 1/2 years in the Selective Reserves. Catherine now works at the Hampton VA Medical Center as the Women Veterans Program Manager.
