• Dr. Charles H. Bombardier is a Seattle-based clinical psychologist specializing in multidisciplinary rehabilitation of patients with traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, stroke, and multiple sclerosis. He completed his education with a BS in Psychology from the University of Washington and a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Washington State University, along with predoctoral and postdoctoral training at Duke University Medical Center. He is a professor of Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Washington and is clinically located at UWMedicine's Harborview Medical Center. He is an internationally recognized expert in the assessment and treatment of depression, alcohol and other drug abuse, pain, and physical inactivity as well as in motivational interviewing and tele-health interventions for people with disabilities. He has received grant funding from the NIH, CDC, NIDILRR, and the Craig H. Neilsen Foundation for his research and has over 187 peer-reviewed publications in journals such as JAMA, JAMA Psychiatry, Journal of Neurotrauma, Science, Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, Neurology, and Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He has led numerous clinical trials, has received national awards such as the Sidney and Elizabeth Licht Award for Excellence in Scientific Writing, and is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association.
