Summary

  • Current Anesthesiology PGY-3 at the University of Virginia (UVA) planning to pursue obstetric anesthesiology fellowship with interests in leadership, clinical research, and quality improvement.

Following completion of my PhD in molecular biology, I accepted a Navy scholarship to attend medical school. After completing an obstetric and gynecology internship at Navy Medical Center San Diego, I was fortunate to serve as the Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 267 Flight Surgeon and 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit Air Combat Element Surgeon. During this time I deployed twice with the Marines building upon primary care, search and rescue, casualty evacuation, clinical leadership, quality improvement, strategic development, and risk-management experience.

I plan to leverage these skills and experiences to pursue an Obstetric Anesthesiology Fellowship and ultimately a faculty appointment in academic medicine involving clinical care, research, teaching and leadership opportunities.
