Overview of  Dr. Lawrie

Dr. Charles M. Lawrie, MD, MSc, is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee joint replacement. He is the current President of the Anterior Hip Foundation. He practices at Baptist Health South Florida in Miami, Florida, where he specializes in anterior approach hip replacements, robotic-assisted total and partial knee replacements, hip resurfacing, and complex revision surgeries. A graduate of Rice University and Baylor College of Medicine, Dr. Lawrie completed his residency at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital, followed by advanced fellowship training in joint preservation and replacement at Washington University in St. Louis and an AO Trauma Fellowship at University Hospital Zurich. He also holds a Master of Science in Clinical Investigation from Washington University.

Dr. Lawrie is an award winning clinical researcher and has published extensively in leading journals such as The Journal of Arthroplasty, The Bone & Joint Journal, and JBJS. His work focuses on improving outcomes in joint replacement surgery. He is actively involved in medical student and fellow education, serving as Clinical Associate Professor at Florida International University School of Medicine and Associate Fellowship Director for the Adult Hip and Knee Reconstruction Fellowship at Baptist Health South Florida. He currently serves on the Fellowship Committee of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons.

Beyond academic research, he is deeply involved in advancing his field through collaborative innovation with industry partners in the development of hip and knee and robotic technology platforms. He is the Co-Founder and Chief Medical Officer of Fios Health, a medical technology company solving the workplace shortage problem in healthcare through the use of Artificial Intelligence enabled digital solutions.
