• Chioma Rosanna Ekechukwu, MD, is a psychiatrist with 20 years of active practice experience treating adult, child & adolescent, geriatric, forensic, and dual-diagnosis patient populations.   Dr. Ekechukwu previously earned an M.S. in microbiology from North Carolina State University. She has published research on topics including the transcriptional regulation of Neisseria gonorrhoeae and the characterization of Azotobacter vinelandii mutants. She worked in immunology and microbiology research and as a quality control microbiologist for several years. She has also been a high school biology, chemistry, and physical science teacher for 9th through 12th graders. Personal interests and hobbies include the visual arts, creative writing, beading, and sewing. She enjoys many movie genres, live theatre, and music and cultural festivals; and has a personal desire and goal to author and have published a fictional and/or non-fictional work of literature for adults; as well as a children’s book.
