Summary

  • I am board certified in internal medicine with fellowship training in vascular research and women's health. I have several leadership roles in women's health in the American College of Physicians, I am President of the North American Menopause Society (NAMS), a member of the board of trustees and I am a certified menopause practitioner. My research is NIH-NICHD funded and focuses on premenopausal women with hypothalamic amenorrhea resulting in low estrogen and the impact on immune and cardiovascular health. I have over 170 publications in the area of women’s health and actively involved several large studies including the Women’s Ischemia Syndrome Evaluation, the Women’s Health Initiative and the Los Angeles Atherosclerosis Study.
